Intensely fruity with slight maritime spirit character. Baked apples stuffed with walnuts, raisins, and apricot jam. Sprinkling of lemon zest, cinnamon, ginger, and muscovado sugar. Citrus peel, ginger snaps, baked fruits (particularly apricots), and caramelized sugar. Estery wood varnish notes (in a good way), hint of chocolate and red fruits from the Oloroso finish. Spirit-driven with excellent balance between distillate and cask influence.
Mouthcoating and oily texture. Initial very light linseed oil aroma quickly transitions to sweet and zesty fruit, spice, and malt. Structured with fruit salad character—toffee and raspberries, apple, even a little pineapple. Ginger and pepper spice combined with vanilla creaminess. Malted biscuits and oak. Maritime complexity throughout with generous sprinkling of sea salt. Honey sweetness balances the brine. Classic Campbeltown funky, citrus, and biscuity notes with warming caramelized baked fruits.
Long, warming finish with ginger spice, maritime salinity, and slight oakiness. Spice and dried fruit linger. The maritime character never leaves. Complexity: 8/10. Recommended serving: Serve neat or with a small splash of water to enhance fruit notes. Best at room temperature in a Glencairn glass. The oily texture benefits from breathing—allow 5-10 minutes after pouring. Pairs beautifully with grilled seafood, particularly scallops or lobster. Also excellent with blue cheese or dark chocolate.
