🌋 Talisker Unveils 47-Year-Old Finished with Volcanic Rock
Talisker has released one of its most exclusive whiskies ever: Magma 47-Year-Old. After decades in American oak, the spirit was finished in new oak casks toasted with volcanic rock from Skye — replacing traditional flame with heated stones. The result is a complex dram of smoke, minerality, and spice, bottled at 48.8% ABV. Only 622 bottles worldwide, priced around £4,200 ($5,250). The bottle itself is made from 100% recycled glass, shifting from clear to black, echoing Skye's lava-to-ocean landscape.
🥃 Fettercairn Enters US Market with 12- and 16-Year-Olds
Fettercairn is expanding Stateside with two new permanent expressions. The 12-Year-Old ($55, 46% ABV) and 16-Year-Old ($90, 46.4% ABV) showcase the distillery's signature tropical character, achieved by cascading cool Cairngorm water over stills to capture only the lightest vapours. Both are natural colour and non-chill filtered. The 16-Year scored 95 points from Wine Enthusiast — one to watch for Highland fans.

🥂 Bruichladdich Goes "Old Skool" for 25th Anniversary
Bruichladdich marks 25 years since its 2001 resurrection with Old Skool, a 10-year-old single malt distilled from 100% Islay-grown barley supplied by 14 local growers within a nine-mile radius of the distillery. Aged mainly in bourbon casks with a touch of Sauternes. £60, 50% ABV — the first of three anniversary releases planned for 2026.
