The Lowland region lies south of an imaginary line from Greenock to Dundee, encompassing the gentle, rolling countryside of southern Scotland. Historically the region suffered many distillery closures, but has seen a revival in recent years. Lowland distilleries traditionally use triple distillation, producing lighter spirits.
“Light, gentle, and approachable. Often described as 'the Lowland Ladies' for their delicate nature. Typical notes include grass, honeysuckle, cream, toast, and citrus. Triple distillation creates a smooth, soft texture. Perfect as an introduction to Scotch whisky.”
